Emergency Department | Certifications

Certification from the Arizona Department of Health Services by the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services & Trauma System:

  • Advanced Life Support Base Hospital. Base Hospitals provide both administrative medical direction and on-line medical direction to certified emergency medical technicians at the advanced life support level which includes, but is not limited to Paramedics.

Registered Nurses are certified in:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)

Laboratory Services | Certifications

Certification from the Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) under the Center for Clinical Standards and Quality:

  • Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA)

All laboratory technical staff are certified by examination through:

  • American Society for Clinical Pathology
  • American Medical Technologists or
  • Health and Human Services

Medical Imaging |Accreditations

Accreditation from the American College of Radiology:

  • Computed Tomography (CT)
  • Mammography
  • Ultrasound
  • Vascular Sonography

Accreditation from the Joint Commission:

  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

Wickenburg Community Hospital holds the status of a Certified Quality Breast Center of Excellence in the National Quality Measures for Breast Centers Program™ (NQMBC™).  This distinguished honor represents a commitment by Wickenburg Community Hospital to provide the highest level of quality breast health care to patients in their community.

Measuring and comparing quality performance is essential in assessing patient care and allocating resources where improvement is desired. In today’s dynamic health care industry, breast centers are faced with providing quality care while simultaneously keeping cost under control.  Our staff must not only be familiar with existing standards of care, but must also be aware of the new advances in technology.


AORN Go Clear Award | Gold Level

Go Clear AwardWickenburg Community Hospital holds a Go Clear Award™ for its achievement in eliminating hazardous smoke from its surgical procedures. The Go Clear Award is presented by the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) to recognize health care facilities that have committed to providing increased surgical patient and health care worker safety by implementing practices that eliminate smoke caused by the use of lasers and electrosurgery devices during surgery. Wickenburg earned its award by undergoing comprehensive surgical smoke education along with testing and providing the resources necessary to evacuate surgical smoke during all smoke-generating procedures. This required investing in new medical devices.
