Hospital Celebrates National Volunteer Month

WICKENBURG (May 5, 2016) – Wickenburg Community Hospital celebrated National Volunteer Month by honoring 46 generous volunteers during a picnic lunch in the park.

“Last year 46 men and women donated 7,736 hours of personal time volunteering for the hospital,” says Gogi Gay, Volunteer/Training Manager at WCH.  “According to a recent independent sector study, the value of volunteer time is approximately $23.07 per hour.  Though priceless, our volunteers donated approximately $178,469.52 last year,” said Gay.

Hospital volunteers provide hope, care and support, impactful to patients, their families, and hospital staff.  Volunteers provide help in nearly all departments at the hospital including the front desk, gift shop, pharmacy, laboratory, emergency department, acute care, waiting room, medical records, clinics, rehabilitation services, fitness center, business offices, accounting, human resources, and materials.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at the hospital, your skills and enthusiasm are most appreciated.  For more information call 928-684-5421 and ask for extension 3711 or stop by the front desk and ask for Gogi Gay.
