Specialized Hospital Nursing
Wickenburg Community Hospital is able to offer its patients specialized nursing care in the form of our swing bed or short-term rehabilitation program, outpatient therapy and hospice.
Swing Beds– are specialized rehabilitation beds that allow a patient to return to their community for skilled physical therapy following surgery, stroke or reconditioning following a lengthy illness. We also offer inpatient stays for IV therapy and wound care including wound vacs and frequent dressing changes. This unique service prepares the patient to be more independent as they transition back home. Low staff to patient ratios, encouraged family involvement and skilled medical personnel make the recovery faster and more enjoyable. We can work with your physician and case manager to arrange for a smooth transfer.
Outpatient Therapy– is available to those patients who do not need an in-patient stay but still require medical care. Available in our Acute Care nursing department, the patient can obtain wound care, IV therapy, blood transfusions, chemotherapy, colostomy care in addition to PICC line and Porta-cath flushes. We work with your primary care physician and you to coordinate the care that is most convenient for the patient.
Hospice Beds– Wickenburg Community Hospital is pleased to partner with both Hospice of the Valley and Hospice of Arizona to offer its residents general inpatient care. This program offers hospice care to those individuals who need a short stay to regulate pain management or attend to medical needs. We encourage family involvement and overnight stays are accommodated. Patients currently on service with Hospice or those new to this service are welcome.
All of these services can be obtained by calling the Chief Nursing Officer at 928-684-4384.
