Having called Arizona home since the age of 10, Dr. Cammarata’s ties to the community run deep. He began his medical education at Arizona State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree, before pursuing his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University in Glendale. Staying true to his Arizona roots throughout his education shows his unwavering commitment to the community he serves.
Dr. Cammarata’s surgical training was comprehensive and rigorous. He completed his General Surgery residency at Rowan University in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, where he served as Chief Resident for a year, further sharpening his leadership and surgical expertise. His career then took him to the University of Pittsburgh for two years before he returned to Arizona to share his skills with his home state.
A Legacy of Service and Dedication
Dr. Cammarata’s dedication to service began long before his medical career. As a proud veteran, he served as a Special Forces weapons sergeant with the US Army Reserves after qualifying in 1989. The discipline, resilience, and commitment cultivated in the military are reflected in his surgical precision and his compassionate approach to patient care.

Currently, Dr. Cammarata is a founding member and owner of Phoenix Unified Surgeons, which he established in 2023 to provide state-of-the-art surgical care with a focus on patient well-being. He holds privileges at Desert Ridge Outpatient Surgery Center and Wickenburg Community Hospital in Arizona. Dr. Cammarata is Board Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery (General Surgery).
