Hospital Services - Emergency Care

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please dial 911.

Emergency Services are available 24/7, Walk-In Emergency Entrance, is located at 520 Rose Lane, Wickenburg, AZ 85390.

Wickenburg Community Hospital (WCH) operates an eight-bed, emergency department (ED) that is evaluated and verified by the Arizona Department of Health. In partnership with Innova Emergency Medical Associates, PC, WCH ensures the ED is staffed twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week by a team of highly qualified emergency medicine physicians, advanced practice providers, and trauma-certified registered nurses.

This skilled team is always ready and dedicated to stabilizing and treating patients with various emergent needs, including stroke, cardiac issues, and trauma. The WCH ED cares for patients daily presenting with a variety of care needs ranging from minor injuries to critical conditions. Patients who enter the emergency room are triaged according to their medical conditions and care prioritized by severity. Our providers quickly assess patients to identify life threatening conditions and administer treatment in a timely manner. Some patients are discharged home after treatment, others are admitted to WCH’s acute care wing for continued care, and the most serious cases may be transferred for higher-level of care or specialty coverage.

The rural WCH ED offers specialized services through affiliated partnerships with specialty providers to ensure the community receives specialty care in a timely manner. Below are some examples of partnerships serving this community:

  • Telestroke – when a patient arrives with new onset of stroke symptoms the ED Team quickly evaluates and notifies the Barrow Neurological Institute, where a Neurologist can evaluate the patient via a televised platform to provide immediate neurological care.
  • Tele-Behavioral Crisis – Specially trained crisis interventionalists evaluate patients experiencing a behavioral health crisis such as depression, suicidal ideation and/or attempts on their life.
  • PHI Air Medical – The leading air ambulance provider in the United States has established WCH as an independent helicopter base for air medical transport. This means our community members have shorter wait times for air medical transport as the helicopter can deploy to the scene of an emergency from WCH instead of another valley location, shortening response times to rural locations.
  • Innova Emergency Medical Associates, PC, provides talented staff who demonstrate knowledge and skills in rural medicine. The Innova leadership team is actively involved in both local and state-level processes, implementing changes that benefit the Wickenburg community and beyond. WCH appreciates this powerful partnership which allows us to deliver quality healthcare close to home, prioritizing the well-being of our patients, their families, and the community.
