WICKENBURG COMMUNITY HOSPITAL & CLINICS DELIVERS VITAL RELIEF AND CARE FOLLOWING JONES FIRE.

WICKENBURG, AZ – 06/01/2026 – Wickenburg Community Hospital and Clinics (WCH) has announced the successful distribution of more than $10,775 in direct financial assistance and vital resources to community members affected by the recent Jones Fire. By partnering with local organizations and the American Red Cross to establish a Disaster Assistance Center, the hospital ensured that displaced individuals and families received immediate, compassionate support following the 84-acre wildfire that began on May 11.

When the Jones Fire threatened the Wickenburg area, the hospital immediately activated its emergency response plan to prioritize the safety and well-being of its patients, staff, and visitors. Despite internet and phone service disruptions across the region, the dedicated medical team utilized secondary communication systems to maintain continuous, reliable care. The facility remained fully operational and did not require evacuation at any point, standing as a secure and dependable healthcare provider for the community during a highly volatile situation.

Following the containment of the fire, the hospital transitioned its efforts toward community recovery by serving as the primary point of contact for a newly formed local relief committee. Working alongside the Town of Wickenburg, local spiritual leaders, dedicated regional businesses, and concerned citizens, the hospital actively helped connect impacted residents with essential survival resources and comprehensive support.

“We saw generosity pouring in from every direction,” Davidson noted. “Not only did businesses step up, but individuals and families took it upon themselves to help however they could. I recognize there are so many people who have contributed to the relief efforts that it is impossible to list them all, but WCH is extremely grateful and proud to serve alongside such an amazing community!”

Through this coordinated relief network, the hospital facilitated direct aid to those experiencing the greatest need. To date, the comprehensive distribution of over $13,775 in financial and in-kind support included temporary housing assistance that has safely sheltered ten individuals, as well as $9,600 in retail gift cards to help families purchase groceries, clothing, and household essentials. The ongoing recovery effort has successfully matched eight (8) displaced residents with replacement recreational vehicles for long-term lodging, provided beds, and supplied a vehicle to restore a community member’s transportation for employment. Efforts continue for the remaining individuals unhoused by the fire.

Wickenburg Community Hospital and Clinics remains deeply committed to the health, safety, and recovery of the region. As a massive influx of food and clothing donations continues to arrive from generous community members, the hospital will keep matching these critical resources with the individuals and families who need them most.

Healthcare billing delays often arise from extended insurance claim processing. These insurance delays can lead to confusion and financial strain for patients, who may not receive their bill until weeks or months after care is provided, making it harder to plan financially.

At Wickenburg Community Hospital & Clinics, we strive for timely and accurate billing. However, we cannot bill our patients until the organization has received full and accurate payment from insurance companies, a process that is often protracted and beyond our control. Once we are confident that the patient’s claims are processed and paid accurately by the insurance company, then we move forward with issuing a bill to the patient. Rest assured, we are committed to clear communication and our patient’s well-being.
